There are about 150 items available for bidding in the online auction. When you find an auction item you wish to bid on, bid the amount listed next to the item to become the highest bidder. Your bid is populated automatically by the auction software.

Yes, you can bid in the auction by using any device that you normally use to access the web. Log in to the North Shore Give auction website auction.northshoregive.org/login from each device so that the auction software knows it’s you and can track all your activities.

If another bidder places a higher bid, the auction software will notify you via email and SMS. Log back into the auction website and place another bid to become the highest bid again. You can continue to bid on each item until March 21 at 9:30PM Hawaii.

Each auction item is placed in one of 7 categories for ease of search. The auction categories are:

  • Accommodation & Travel
  • Experiences
  • Dining & Restaurants
  • Local Services
  • Special Items
  • Art & Jewelry
  • Home Decorations

All items have a Reserve Price or starting bid which is the lowest price that will be accepted for each item.

This is based on the Fair Market Value (FMV), the price we believe the item would normally sell for in the open market. When bidding on items for a charitable auction, people may pay less or more than the FMV.

Incremental bids are automatically set and vary from item to item. A general guideline is:

  • If the reserve price is under $250, the incremental bid is usually $10.
  • If the reserve price is $250 – $499, the incremental bid is usually $25.
  • If the reserve price is $500 – $999, the incremental bid is usually $50.
  • If the reserve price is $1,000 – $2,499, the incremental bid is usually $100.
  • If the reserve price is $2,500 or more, the incremental bid is usually $250.

No. When you place a bid online, you are entering into a legally binding contract to purchase the item you bid on. The auction software does not allow bids to be withdrawn or cancelled.

If you are the winning bidder, you will receive a congratulatory Auction Win Notification via SMS and email requesting you to complete your transaction.

Payment can be made via the credit card you entered during Registration, a different card if you choose, or via PayPal.

Yes, the Hawaii GET of 4.712% is payable on all auction purchases and will be added to your auction bid total when you finalize payment.
